Practice Update: this collage is notable with its shift in visual presentation in three specific forms:
Color drenching: More saturated color, pushing hue intensity across the whole piece.
Value intensity: Overall deeper tonal range, flattening the image somewhat, but also unifying it as a secondary result.
Surreal elements: Objects with no narrative connection to the rest of the scene — separate from recurring symbolic imagery like the moon and Jupiter 3, which remains a recurring symbolic element in this work. This new assertion is arbitrary rather than symbolic. It is meant to disrupt the space being asserted.
These three moves are intentional, part of the evolution of an active practice. It’s what keeps me engaged visually.
