Six from This Morning
I woke up at 5 AM this morning to take my BP med. Then I made six collages while my BP returned to my normal 115 over 70. Collage work centers and calms me.
I make six to ten digital collages a day, and I have for more than two years. These six come from the feed: beaches, a boxer, a handstand, a diver, a shower, and a man in leather beside a can of DAK ham added.
The Blue Moon and the Jupiter 3 appear in each one, standing for desire and for escape, and as witnesses to both.
The first two made today share the same beach as their ground and appear up front. The first is minimal, with only a few figures added. The second is maximal, with the same beach filled with figures. It is an exercise within the daily exercise: one source, two approaches.
The only way to get better is to make the work, and to not be afraid to make the work.
