Every October, Jeremy packs one bag and flies to the Cocomos.
He goes with the same group of best bros every year. It is a tradition. Nobody misses it.
The weekend has a schedule. Friday is the beach. Saturday is costumes. This year the theme is the Stone Age, with leopard print, fur, a blue neckerchief and one yellow handbag that nobody claims.
There is swimming. There is time in the water and time on the rocks. There is coffee on the balcony the next morning.
Halloween is a festive holiday, and Jeremy and the boys take festivity seriously. Some of it gets messy.
On Monday, Jeremy flies home to his wife and kids.
He is happy. The weekend settles him. It carries him through Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, summer vacation and back-to-school.
Then it is October again.
Jeremy has everything a man could want: a wife, five kids, a house, great job, wonderful church, and one weekend a year in the Cocomos with the boys.
